Bone Saws
Huffman machining systems are capable of superabrasive grinding of cutting teeth on bone saws for the medical industry.
Process
- Bone saws are manufactured from a solid stainless steel blank.
- The tooth forms and all necessary reliefs are generated on the workpiece in a single setup.
- Multiple wheels are mounted on the grinding spindle to achieve the optimum balance of programming flexibility, part geometry, cycle time and wheel life.
- A family of parts program offers flexibility to produce a wide variety of part geometry.
Material
Cycle Times
- Cycle times are significantly lower than other manufacturing methods. Actual time varies depending upon the part size and other process variables.
Features and Benefits
- Available on the Huffman HS-150, HS-190 and HS-200 series belt grinding machines.
- Requires dedicated fixturing for accurate and repeatable clamping. Up to eight saws can be ground in a single grinding cycle.
- Software is capable of accomodating a family of parts.
- Rugged machine design enhances system precision, durability and uptime.
