HS-195GC Grinding CenterThe system is designed to meet the increasing demands for flexible, reliable, precision production systems for complex parts like flight and industrial gas turbine blades, vanes and shrouds, medical implants and instruments and other components. The machine addresses the trend toward multi-tasking production environments, enabling customers to further combine machining operations into a single machine cycle. Combining operations into one part cycle has many cascading benefits, including reduced WIP, higher quality, lower total throughput time, and lower total cost. The system is available in 3, 4, 5, or 6 axis configurations. By using existing, proven machine modules, Huffman can deliver exceptionally productive, customized manufacturing solutions without the risk and long lead times associated to custom machines. Precision ground, preloaded ballscrews, preloaded linear guideways, and massively ribbed structural components are used to maximize precision and rigidity and to minimize vibration. Zero backlash geared rotary axes make this system capable of producing higher quality parts with a better finish. The proven, reliable rotary dial ATC has a magazine that can store a combination of grinding wheels and / or tools. A quantity of 9 to 18 tools / grinding wheels can be stored depending upon the tool/wheel diameter. The ATC is located so as not to encroach on the 16” XYZ work cube. A probe can be loaded in one tool pocket, and used for pre-machine location verification or post-machine inspection. The machine is equipped with a HSK-63, 20.1 HP (continuous duty), 0 to 8,000 RPM spindle and a GE Fanuc 160iM CNC control system, drives and servo motors.
