The Technology

Huffman Laser Systems' flexibility and versatility result in an increasingly important production tool. Huffman Laser Systems are designed for production powder-fusion welding, drilling, cutting and welding applications. These systems can perform these applications on super-alloy materials that are often difficult or impossible to process with standard equipment. Our laser systems feature precision and repeatability characteristics consistent with the high-engineering standards applied to all of our product lines. Their multi-axis capabilities enable them to process complex shapes and achieve outstanding results.

The Process

Depositing successive layers of metal onto the surfaces of complex components with the minimum of heat transfer is the key technical advantage of laser powder fusion technology. This omni-directional welding process is highly attractive for jet engine component repair applications where the base alloy can be weakened by temperature rise.
