Huffman is proud to have a long-standing reputation for building robust, accurate machining systems and over 90% of all Huffman machines manufactured are still in service. However, deterioration of dynamic wear components such as ballscrews, linear rail sets, bearings, gears, seals and other components result in loss of accuracy after years of round-the-clock production. Huffman's rebuild service restores your machine to its original factory specifications and increases the life of the machine. Capacity and capability will be increased through the retrofit of current technology components.

Huffman factory rebuilds include:

• Complete disassembly and cleaning of the machine
• Replacing and installing new ballscrews and rail sets to factory specifications for straightness and squareness
• Disassembling and rebuilding the rotary axes using new bearings and gears, and adjusting for backlash
• Replace or repair feedback devices as required
• Inspecting, repairing and replacing (if necessary) auxiliary system
• Replacing lubrication, hydraulic and pneumatic lines
• Installing and balancing new spindle and spindle motor to factory specifications
• Replacing belts and waycovers
• Replacing and tuning servo motors and drives to factory specifications
• Installing a new Huffman Open Architecture Control (OAC) or GE Fanuc control
• Rewiring the machine axes
• Painting the machine
• Performing positioning accuracy and repeatability inspections using a laser interferometer
